ProjecteSD was founded in 2003. The gallery program has been constructed to generate a dialogue between renowned and young artists, and a platform to host and present works of different times and contexts, as a way to priorize artistic value over trends, classifications, nationalities or generations. The gallery devotes special attention to artist’s books and hosts a permanent section of selected artist’s books and publications. ProjecteSD has been recognised as housing a new concept of gallery within the Spanish contemporary art gallery scene. Its consistent program, its particular selection of artists, not driven by commercial concerns, beyond market trends and demands, its personal approach, have contributed towards the gallery’s notoriety and uniqueness.
In 2014 ProjecteSD received the Arte y Mecenazgo award given by “La Caixa” for best gallery in Spain. In 2019 the gallery received the recognition of the Catalan Association of Art Galleries for best program in 2018.
