Situated in an old factory dating from the beginning of the 18th century, the Museum Can Framis is an example of the recuperation of the city’s historic heritage. Situated in the technological district of 22@ in the Poblenou neighbourhood, the original physiognomy of the building is combined with a new construction that adheres to the remits of a very contemporary idiom. Surrounded by an extensive garden that takes its inspiration from romanticism, the Museum’s exhibition space covers over 3.000 m2, housing a collection of painting that is unique in Spain. One where internationally renowned authors, like Jaume Plensa, Josep Guinovart and Hernández Pijuan are placed in dialogue with the proposals of up and coming artists. The Museum also in turn maintains a programme of temporary exhibitions that take place in the Espai AØ.
