One of the phenomena that have contributed to the evolution of the city in the last years is the transformation of old factories in the area called “Industrial Barcelona” into creation spaces. It is a fact that reflects, at the same time, a global socio-economic transformation, caused by the change in working paradigm: from the manufacturing, physical and material work, to the intellectual, cognitive and immaterial labour.
To take a tour around these manufacturing spaces invaded by artistic drives, is certainly a compelling experience both in historical and cultural level, since they are mostly located in delocalized outlying areas.
Other suggestive points to extend this route would be ADN Platform, the second venue of Galeria ADN for exhibition projects, activities and artist residencies, located in a warehouse on the outskirts of Sant Cugat del Vallès. Or artistic production and creation centres like Hangar and La Escocesa, which have artists’workshops and are located in the Poblenou neighbourhood, more known as the innovation district since the implementation of the Plan 22@.
