From Aragó to Gran Via

Consell de Cent has been traditionally known as the main artery of galerism in Barcelona when Sala Gaspar first opened its doors at the beginning of the XX century. The establishment of the Galeria René Metras in the 60’s definitely boosted this area as the epicenter of the Catalonian galleries’ map.

Today, with an extended offer thanks to the opening of several foundations and art centers, these streets of Eixample are still a must for the art aficionado. Because of its concentration of galleries, the best day to approach this area is on Thursdays, since it is more likely to run into the opening of an exhibition.
