Teresa Gancedo (1937), one of the main artists of her generation, presents in this exhibition a selection of her recent work, where she continues to explore the power of the symbolic and the expression of the unconscious. She uses the imaginary of sacred iconography and nature that populated her childhood in Leon to build her own stories, maps and cosmogony. Her work is between lyricism and mysticism, hedonism and sensuality. After more than forty years of experience, Gancedo continues painting daily, with the same freshness and the same need. She likes to use supports with their own history, which add their particular layer of meaning and texture to the final work, such as notarial papers, papyri or printed fabrics, among others.
The exhibition opens on Thursday,  December 12, 2019 and can be visited until January 31, 2020.
