Malgosia Jankowska

Winter Tales

The Gallery Víctor Lope Arte Contemporáneo announces the opening of its new exhibition next Thursday 15th of March at 7 pm: ‘Winter Tales’ by the Polish artist Malgosia Jankowska. The artist will attend the event.
In ‘Winter Tales’, the Polish artist Malgosia Jankowska presents a selection of her latest works which she constructs from variations of translucent and highly pigmented black, blue, and berry-red watercolors and inks. Each image is carefully shaded and shadowed to create variations in tone for subtle and acute effect.
Constructing her paintings from a combination of watercolor and various inks, viewers are effortlessly captured and driven into Jankowska’s mysterious Brothers Grimm-like fairy tale. You can almost smell the fresh woodland air and feel the seeping light upon your skin, which has inspired her dreamy, ink-saturated artwork. Illustrating what is exquisite about the simple pleasures of life, Jankowska’s works artfully grasp the vibrancy and tantalizing imagery of the natural world.
Born in Sochaczew, Poland, Malgosia Jankowska (1978) started her artistic career in 1998. From that moment onwards, she has exhibited her work in different galleries from around the world, either solo or group shows, in cities like Berlin, Warsaw, Virginia (USA), Frankfurt and Barcelona. Internationally, Jankowska has participated in several art fairs in collaboration with the Gallery Víctor Lope such as SCOPE New York in the States in 2017 and Art Bodensee in Austria that same year.
The exhibition will be carried out until Saturday 28th of April.
