Art Barcelona continues to grow with the incorporation of two new galleries: Galeria Sicart and Victor Lope Arte Contemporáneo. Both have an outstanding record in the promotion of the latest artistic trends and the support of new artists.
Galeria Sicart opened in 2000 in Vilafranca del Penedés, an area best known for its vineyards. The gallery has always been considered sensitive to the most daring proposals of the new generations in all disciplines: photography, video, drawing, painting, objects and installation. Since the gallery seeks for the international market, it participates in fairs like Art Frankfurt, SWAB, JustMad, Art Lisboa and ArtBo. This path has led Galeria Sicart to win in 2008 an award for its international projection, given by the Gremi de Galeries d’Art de Catalunya in 2008.
Victor Lope Arte Contemporáneo is focused on the promotion of the work of emerging artists from around the world. Apart from a varied background that includes disciplines such as sculpture, painting and photography, the gallery has participated in several art fairs like Art Karlsruhe, Cologne Art Fair, Art Toronto and SWAB. Aside from its exhibition activity, Victor Lope manages several art projects such as Ars et Scientia, which seeks the approach and interaction of contemporary art with the public.
The incorporation of these galleries means a total of 26 art galleries creating synergies in Art Barcelona and strengthening in our efforts to discover, defend and disseminate contemporary art.
