Around this time every year, Galería Trama and Sala Parés invite artists under 35 from the painting and photographic scenes to participate in ART<35 BS.
Art<35’s endeavour is the selection of 10 artists to participate in an exhibition devoted to artists up to the age of 35 working in painting and photography. This competition is promoted by theFaculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona and sponsored by Fundació Banc Sabadell. It is organized by the Associació ART<35 in collaboration with Galeria Trama andSala Parés. The exhibition will be held in the galleries mentioned above in September 2016.
The aim of the competition is to facilitate access to the art galleries and exhibition institutions world to young artists working in Spain. The contest also promotes the acquisition of the selected artists work to become part of art collections, e.g. individual, corporative or institutional.
EXHIBITION
The exhibition ART <35 BS / 2016, will consist of five pieces of art-work created by the ten winners chosen by the competition jury. The works have to be submitted in any photographic or painting technique. 3D creations can also be submitted as long as they are produced to be displayed hanging or supported against the wall. The exhibition will be open the public at the Galeria Trama and Sala Parés from1 to 26 September 2016.
ARTISTS
Art<35 is open to artists of any nationality who are not older than thirty-five years of age and who have graduated or are currently studying in a Spanish Faculty of Fine Arts. If they have not completed the degree, students must have accomplished 204 credits or being enrolled in a master’s program.
JURY
The competition jury is made up of professionals who occupy important positions in the art world, e.g. gallery, museum and institution directors, artists and deans from faculties of fine arts. The jury will select ten artists from those who are submitting their portfolios. The selected artists will be invited to participate in the exhibition.
CATALOGUE
The Art<35 BS/20016 catalogue will devote a section to each of the 10 chosen artists, which will include a biographical and critical presentation of the artist as well as of pictures of at least three of his/her works in the exhibition.
PRODUCTION BURSARY
The 10 artists invited to participate in this year exhibition will receive Five Hundred Euros bursary to cover the cost of production of their works.
