House of Chappaz was born in July 2021 as the evolution and transformation of the gallery project Espai Tactel (founded in 2011 in Valencia by Ismaël Chappaz), to which a second space in Barcelona was added in 2018 (led by Oriol Armengou and Ferran Mitjans). At the end of 2021, the project took a step forward with the aim of becoming an even more solid initiative that, while maintaining the essence of the original project, would expand its scope, projection, team, and proposals. This transformation, which occurred naturally at the end of 2021 under the new name House of Chappaz, continues evolving from 2024 onward by concentrating all efforts in a single, stable location in Barcelona, with a three-person co-direction that brings new knowledge, greater strength, and broader projection.

House of Chappaz is also a network of collaboration and friendship that feels like a big family. House of Chappaz is a gallery conceived as a space open to experimentation and currently develops bold contemporary art proposals, with a strong focus on artists from the Mediterranean corridor (Valencia – Barcelona). With a clear commitment to international projection, already evident from the beginning, the gallery participates in various prestigious national and international art fairs, with a major milestone being its uninterrupted participation in the ARCO Fair since 2017.

House of Chappaz is a member of ART BARCELONA, the Association of Galleries of Barcelona, and also of the Consortium of Spanish Galleries.
