Núria Güell

Good Intentions

Good Intentions sets a path throughout Núria Güell's work starting from the year 2014, in which each project's complex process of making is reflected. A common feature of the displayed works is the artist's assumption of a certain risk or personal implication on many different levels: affective, physical, emotional, legal and political. Also, the artworks function as independent stories, but they are ultimately linked to one another, establishing a dialogue between the personal and the collective.

However, Good Intentions does not only question the value of actions, but also their consequences, often measured through binary oppositions: intention vs. effect, ethics vs. morals, action vs. reaction, discourse vs. practice, etc. In summary, the exhibition throws a series of dilemmas and global controversies. Those use individual narratives to eventually interpellate and implicate the viewer at a deeper level.
